We are once again having a contest and prize giveaway!

From now to until August 1st, we will be having another Recruitment and Referral contest here at ASD. The member with the most referrals will win an Uncle Mikes Law Enforcement Deluxe Range Bag. It is brand spanking new, it still has the $49.99 price tag on it! All I've done is to take a picture of it. This is a great looking bag, I believe I'll have to get one for myself!

Here is the official sales pitch on the tag

Carry gun, ammo and gear
Tough, water-resistant fabric, durable web carry handles and adjustable carry strap with quick release buckles
Main compartment covered with double zippered flap
Two lockable side compartments, one padded, one holding removable padded pistol rug
Main compartment is 15" wide, 9" high, 7" deep

There are several ways to receive a referral when getting a new member to join

Simple word of mouth to friends and family members, have them put your username in the referrer box when signing up and they will be automatically added as a referral under your name.
Download and print the Referral Business cards in the Downloads section on the navigation bar, print your username on the Member Referral line and pass them out at gun shops, sporting good stores ect...
Click "Settings" in the top right corner of the site near the log in area. At the top & middle of the page you will see your "Refer Friends URL". This is your own personal referral web link, simply copy and paste this link in any email you send. Anyone that clicks that link and joins will automatically become a referral under you.
**Referral Tip** If you are further interested, download and print the ASD flyer in the downloads section as well. You could attach a Referral Business Card to increase your chances to secure a referral. The flyer is also in .pdf format so you could send it in an email with your Friends Referral URL to give them more information about who we are and what we're about.
Both can be downloaded here:http://americansheepdog.com/Forum/downloads.php?do=cat&id=5

At the conclusion of this contest I will announce and contact the winner with further details.

This contest is for members only, ASD staff are excluded from entry. Sorry guys... If you have any questions, send me a PM, email or simply post a reply below and I will be glad to help.

Good Luck!

Phillip

To keep track of potential missed referrals, I'm including a list of registrations during the contest. New members are joining that aren't a referral so it can become confusing when trying to make sure everyone gets the referral credit they deserve. Below is a list of new registrations during the contest. Members with known referrals are marked with a *** confirmed status. Those without a known referral are not marked.

If you are a new member that was referred and your name is unmarked, send me an email or PM with your referrers user name. If you are a competing member and you see someone you referred as unmarked, contact me and I will confirm the referral and manually add them to your referrals. I will update weekly to ensure the contest is fair and no referrals are missed.

Here is the continued compiled list of new members since the start of the Referral Contest. Again, member names with *** are listed with a referral. If you see your name without the marking and you were referred, please post here with who referred you, send me a (PM) private message or reply to the email being sent to all members. If you see the name of someone you referred, reply as stated and I will need to verify the referral with the new member. I will manually add missed referrals so that everyone gets the credit they deserve.

Thanks so much,
Phillip

We currently have a tie between NWFFT and mmszbi with 6 referrals each. Please check the updated list of registrations for possible missed referrals... Good luck guys, contest ends at 12:00 am on Aug 1st. A tie breaker event will be held at the conclusion of the contest if the result is unchanged.

when will the next contest likely be?

I'm planning on doing another in a couple months, I would love to do one monthly but I currently can't manage that at this time. I am working towards that as my end goal.

Regardless, this has been fun exposing my friends to ASD. Hopefully they will use the information here. It has been enjoyable to see the different opinions, outlooks, reasonings behind how we each go about our days.

I have an idea!

When I was a member of a model train club, we had a boxcar that traveled from member to member so each person could have a picture of it running on thier layout. Many would do custom tagging, airburshing erosion and age...
Long story short, many members got to know each other better by the stories told the boxcar and its journey.

We could do that with the bag! Each stop along the way it can tell a story about who it was with and we can become a more cohesive community here at ASD. Leave a journal in it and we can all add our $.02. Heck, put a small photo album in it, gets filled up along the way!

Not that I am up to any challenge.....the wings idea had merit!

Sorry guys... I'm having a hard time deciding on how to break the tie. It's not like the three of us can sit in a room and quickest person to hit a buzzer wins.

It's 1715 hrs ET now, let me ponder a few more hours and I will decide and post around 2100 hrs today.

Thanks guys,

Phillip

Ok, I have decded... I will send you an email regarding the conditions tomorrow, it will involve a personal phone call with me and questions regarding ASD. Sorta like a test involving general knowledge of the website. I will narrow down possible questions and email each of you regarding time frames to contact you since we are dealing with different time zones and I'll get contact numbers. The best out of 5 questions wins!

Sorry for the additional delay... :embarrest:

Thanks mmszbi. You know, I literally spent the entire day yesterday thinking about this suggestion... The more I thought about it, the more I liked it and came up with some ideas about it. I'll run them buy you and see what you think...

I thought about calling it "The Sheepdog Family Circle". We could put a journal in it so that each member that participates in the circle, could record when it arrived, what they did with it and when they shipped it forward to the next stop on its journey. This journal would tell the story of where it has been and what it has seen. I also thought about putting a memory stick in it so that each member of the circle could take a photo with it and place it on the stick so that an album could be created here to show it's journey. I thought about starting it out with a photo of me holding it in front of the Chattanooga Choo-Choo or near a city limit sign, nothing fancy, just something specific to the area. Maybe standing in the yard with mountains in the background or shooting at the range. I guess it wouldn't matter as long as it was a photo of you with the bag.

We could also sign it with a silver sharpie and maybe put a hat pin on it or include a gun club patch or something... nothing heavy to add weight, just a trinket of sorts.

Feel free to add suggestions... I think this is a really good idea and I think it would be a lot of fun.

I would make a list of those wanting to join the circle, as each member receives the bag, they would notify me by PM or email and I would give them the next address to send it to. No names, just a mailing address, P.O. Box etc...

This is a GREAT idea, as I stated in my previous post. Start with UGA and then send it to mmszbi or NWFFT and then whoever gets it will send it to the next "tie breaker" guy, that is NWFFT or mmszbi. Then we will send it on to another sheepdog. We will need an address list posted to make this happen. Your call UGA! Everyone WINS!

Send it to NWFFT first. I don't want his efforts in this contest to be diminished (or the condition of the bag) by the possibility that Bebo might get his hands on it if it got sent to me first!!

Then I will ration to Bebo....:) Bebo, how about a range day/photo and target shoot????

And we can have a sticky thread to follow its journeys. The Journal could be online, so those of us who get it in the beginning can keep up with where it's at and what is it doing. I like the memory stick too.

I need clarity on the bag... You guys decide how you want to do this and let me know, I don't want to drag out the release of it. PM each other if you'd like to decide in private. I just need to know what to do specifically so we can conclude it.

Thanks guys

UGA, PM's sent. This should be a simple thing. Those who want to participate send thier address to UGA as soon as possible. NWFFT will get the ball rolling. Each person who receives the bag will add photos to a memory stick and then post to a sticky thread that will be started by UGA (yea, I am making an assumption that it would be you starting it!) about the bag and its stay with you. Then that person will contact UGA for the address of the next in line. I am thinking that the bags itenarary will be dictacted by the order in which he receives addresses. Acceptable???

Then let's get this party started!!
