Good information that I had not heard before. Thanks.
If Obama is the answer, the question must have been really stupid!

I received an advertisement from Cheaper Than Dirt for this product. I went to the website for more information and thought this was worth sharing. Compared to some filters on the market this one is relatively inexpensive, and has variable capacity.

I think a good filter combined with solar sterilization would cover almost any contingency.

You can also use chlorine bleach.

The formula is, if I remember right, 2 drops to one quart of water. If you can strain out grit and other nasty stuff you can get a clean canteen or hydration pack full of H2O.

It won't taste very good, but Navy Corpsmen in Vietnam used to bring packets of Kool-Aid into the bush to sort of mask the flavor.

    Default Purifying water to drink--easy

Coffee filters are perfect for this, as well as t-shirts and even good paper towels for filtering. This stuff is soooooo cheap and easy to get and store.
