    Default New 4th Gen Glock?

I am thinking about getting a Glock 27 .40 caliber to carry in my pocket. The gun store has a 3rd and 4th gen model of the 27. The 4th is $50 more. The new one has more aggressive grip texture, a slightly slimmer grip and 3 magazines instead of 2.

Any opinions? And good or bad things I should know about? My regular carry Glock is a third generation so the 3rd gen 27 feels more familiar to me but I like the thinner grip...

I've been trying to decide on the two myself. I too like the thinner model. The + for me is as a BUG the G27 will accept mags from my G23 or a G22. Nice to know in if for any reason the 23 fails. Here @ GT Dist, I can get a 3rd Gen with night sights for right at $450.
It takes only seconds to call the police, waiting for them to arrive could take the rest of your life...

You can't make a wrong choice here. Reliability-wise they'll be the same. The Gen 4 also has interchangeable backstraps if you like that. My 26 is Gen 3 and I like it A LOT, a tad heavy for pocket-carry in jeans, but sweet in a jacket or coat (in a pocket holster of course). Get the one YOU like better and you'll be fine.

Lol... I was referring to "on duty" in a secure ankle rig. This is where being able to accept G22 & G23 mags will be a plus. Still a beefy ankle weight tho, you're right! Department issue is a G22 or G23 although detectives are allowed to choose the G27 as a primary.

Magazine compatability is always a plus.

Over just a normal sock against your ankle-bone it is definitely "beefy", BUT, over good-quality uniform duty boots with boot socks in a Galco Ankle Glove holster, it's quite comfortable as well as comforting.

I really like the interchangeable backstraps. I just recommended that a friend check out a Gen 4 and the M&P because of this.
