Love the commercial...only one point of contention. Just can't imagine R. Lee having to rack the slide as trouble approches (notice the sound as the picture fades to black). TV and movies seem to always have to screw up a perfectly good scenario.....

    Lol!

Personally I like my gun where I can instantly reach it if I wake up and someone is in the room.

I think that there are a few things that I would not do in this GLOCK promo....my gun would not be in a safe at night; in a holster on the night stand, and to echo RK's comment, why did he have to rack the slide? The opening of the safe and the racking of the slide probably cost him 10-15 seconds...do we have that much time?

I imagine Mr Ermey probably thought it was stupid too. It's just Glock covering it's butt.

What you've got with an un-racked 1911 is your basic steel hammer.

Talking Hammer Down, Lights Out! - The Good Old Days

Waaay back in the day, before verbal judo, tasers, stun guns, phasers, and the Vulcan nerve-pinch, there were times during a CQC (Close-Quarter-Clusterxxxx) when many a threatening badguy found themselves on the receiving end of a cranial-stroke from an all-steel 1911.

I've heard it was quite the effective "hammer".
